Considered too shocking to be performed when it was first written in 1891, Spring Awakening shows what happens to young people when their parents and society conspire to keep them in the dark about sex. By turns tender, sharp and disturbing, this classic play is presented by an ensemble cast in a production that follows its characters’ journey from the stifling and mundane to the nightmarish and surreal.
Directed by Clare Threadgold, recommended for those over the age of 14, due to adult themes.
Spring Awakening runs from Tuesday 5th May until Wednesday 6th May at The Greenwich Theatre.
